DARK HARBOUR POND Dories float motionless in the calm waters of Dark Harbour Pond, as a herring carrier and seiner await low tide. Seaworthy and reliable, the boats are the mainstay of a dulser’s trade and average eighteen feet overall. The boats’ fourteen foot bottoms are covered with Teflon and allow the dory to be dragged over the boulders and rocks that cover Grand Manan’s beaches and intertidal zones.
