Confederation Bridge
The Confederation Bridge, joining Cape Jourimain, NB to Borden-Carleton, PE, is the longest bridge spanning ice covered waters in the world. A part of the Trans Canada Highway system, the Confederation Bridge stretches 13 kilometres across the Northumberland Strait. Although cyclists and pedestrians are not permitted to cross the bridge, there is a complimentary shuttle that transports passengers between the two provinces. Upon your arrival on Prince Edward Island stop at the Gateway Village to obtain tourist information, dine at a good restaurant or to do a little souvenir shopping.
